Terms of Service
The rules for using MOV to MP3: what you may convert, who owns the results, and what we are responsible for.
Last updated: 2026-10-24
These terms are an agreement between you and the people who run MOV to MP3 at movtomp3.org ("we", "us"). By using the site you accept them, along with our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
What the site does
MOV to MP3 takes a video or audio file you choose and saves its sound as an audio file (MP3, WAV, M4A or OGG). The work is done by FFmpeg running in your browser; your file is not uploaded. Very large files, unusual formats or older devices can make a conversion slow or fail, so check the result before you rely on it.
Free to use
The converter is free, with no sign-up and no limit on how many files you convert. We may change or stop the service at any time.
The files you convert
Only convert files you own or have permission to use. Extracting audio does not change who holds the rights to it: music, films and other recordings usually belong to someone, and copying them may need the owner's permission where you live. You are responsible for how you use what you convert.
Because your files never reach our servers, we don't see, store or claim any rights in them or in the audio you create.
Things you must not do
- Use the site to break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
- Overload the site, scrape it, probe it for weaknesses or try to reach data that isn't yours.
- Resell the service or present it as your own without our written permission.
Our content
The site's design, text and logo belong to us; please don't copy them without permission. The converter is open-source software licensed by its authors (see the next section). Nothing in these terms limits the rights those licenses give you.
Open-source software
MOV to MP3 converts your files with FFmpeg, compiled to WebAssembly so it runs inside your browser. We did not write FFmpeg and have not changed it.
- FFmpeg core:
@ffmpeg/coreversion 0.12.10 from the ffmpeg.wasm project, downloaded by your browser from the jsDelivr CDN the first time you convert. It is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or (at your option) any later version, and includes GPL components such as x264 and x265 alongside LGPL ones such as LAME. Its source code and build scripts are at ffmpegwasm/ffmpeg.wasm, tag v0.12.10; the unmodified files are published on npm, and FFmpeg's own source is at ffmpeg.org. - ffmpeg.wasm wrapper:
@ffmpeg/ffmpegversion 0.12.15, MIT license, source at github.com/ffmpegwasm/ffmpeg.wasm.
If you would rather receive the corresponding source code from us, email support@movtomp3.org and we will send it, or a written offer for it, at no charge beyond the cost of delivery. This offer is valid for three years from the date shown at the top of these terms.
FFmpeg is a trademark of Fabrice Bellard, originator of the FFmpeg project. MOV to MP3 is not affiliated with or endorsed by the FFmpeg project.
Changes, suspension and ending access
We can change, pause or stop any part of the site. If you break these terms, we may block your access without warning.
No guarantees
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise that it will always work, be free of errors, or produce a result that suits your purpose.
Our liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits, lost data or lost opportunities. Our total liability for any claim connected with the site is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50, whichever is more. Nothing here removes rights that the law in your country gives you and that cannot be waived.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top changes too. Using the site after that means you accept the new version.
